XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX NOON XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Time Autostart with world time information for HP48G[X] 2nd Edition Shows the world map and the noon meridian during day time in Asia, Europe and America. Thus, it tells you where is noon time at present. NOON is independent on local time, i.e., a person in America or elswhere sees in a given moment the same picture as somebody in Europe. To achieve this feature, NOON looks in its first run for a real on the stack, the deviation from Central European Time (CET). For instance, if you are living in Eastern Standard Time (a 6-hour delay to CET) put a -6 onto the stack and run NOON. Then the original program reorganizes itself and from now on you see the correct noon meridian together with local time. A person living in central Europe must put 0 onto the stack. Time and datum are displayed at the screen's top in user-friendly fashion. We propose to assign NOON to a key of your choice. Whatever is made, if a key distinct from CANCEL is pressed while NOON is running, the calculator turns off. At the next switch-on NOON restarts automatically. Very convenient for having just a glance at date and time. CANCEL aborts program execution and the autostart feature. NOON is idle about 50% of its run-time, hence does'nt consume much power while watching the meridian in its slow move from East to West. Note that NOON does not use PICT, hence PPAR is not involved. -------------------------------------------------- Wolfgang Rautenberg email: raut@math.fu-berlin.de http: www.math.fu-berlin.de/~raut ftp.math.fu-berlin.de/pub/usr/raut
