The international "social travel" project D.E.M.O.I.R.E.
On May 26/27, 2015 I will transport "Besuchszimmer" to Hausen im Tal, upper Danube. We will start on May 28.
She (boats in English are always female) will sail, row, wriggle, drift, tow on the Danube down to Austria (some 20 - 30 days). Probably in Obernzell @ Donau, right at the border to Austria, Besuchszimmer will be pulled out of the Danube waters to reach Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic. A modest 500 m altitude difference has to be overcome somehow - best regards from Fitzcarraldo.
Besuchszimmer will then sail down the Vltava (Moldau), Elbe, and from Havelberg she will sail up the Havel, and finally the Teltow-Kanal, to reach the destination of this travel, i.e. Home.
The sentimentality of the trip may be populated by typical nature's paraphernalia, or by man-made artefacts (some 100 locks, castles, cities, cosy beds, etc). Or, much more desireable, by YOU visiting me, using the information given on this map and the D.E.M.O.I.R.E. project facebook page, and the pertaining communication techniques. I will enjoy sharing some river bank time - some sentimental places are already marked by a camera icon on the map - or some river distance during this journey with you! Besuchszimmer can carry three persons, i.e. two visitors, one of which being Rosi from time to time.
I expect to sleep at the river bank in a tent, in farm houses, canoe clubs, pensions, cloisters, castles, .... I will have one set of decent city gear with me, including tango dancing shoes, most probably to be activated in Prague, plus unexpected other places.
Ah, the acronym: Donau - Elbe - Moldau - Outside - Investigation - (of a) River - (and its) - Environments. Follow-up project of L.O.I.R.E. and B.O.I.R.E. - Sorry dear Brandenburgers, I did not find a solution to include the beautiful river HAVEL in the acronym while keeping the ...O.I.R.E.
