About Me

I'm a Ph.D. candidate and BMS Phase II student working in the field of mathematical geometry processing in the mathematical geometry processing group headed by Prof. Dr. Konrad Polthier at Freie Universität Berlin. In 2016 I became a member of the German National Academic Foundation from whom I receive a scholarship since September 2017. I am associated to the SFB 109 "DGD" and a member of a Matheon project.

My research interests are set between Computer Science and Mathematics. I am mainly concerned about all issues related to point sets. This includes the acquisition of point sets via 3D-scanning as well as their processing afterwards. Key terms for the latter are surface reconstruction and cluster algorithms. In regard of efficiency, I am interested in nearest-neighbor algorithms and data structures.

I received a M.Sc. in Mathematics in 2014 with focus on a Kd-Tree data structure implementation within the setting of anisotropic point cloud smoothing. My Master's thesis can be found here.
In 2011 I finished both my B.Sc. in Mathematics and my B.Sc. in Computer Science with a thesis on Parikh's game logic.

I am a member of the German Mathematical Society, the Berlin Mathematical Society, and SIAM as well its activity group Geometric Design.

Pictogram of Aikido


In 2007 I started practicing the japanese martial art of Aikido. Currently I hold a first kyu in the ranking system of the German Aikido Association (DAB).
Furthermore, I am an active member of the running group of Freie Universität Berlin, participating any runs and relays from 5km to half-marathon distance.
