Kıvanç Ersoy FU Berlin

Starting January 2020, I am a Philipp Schwartz Fellow in the algebraic topology research group at the Mathematical Institute of FU Berlin, supervised by Holger Reich.

Between October 2018-December 2019, I was an Einstein Guest Professor in the arithmetic geometry research group at the Mathematical Institute of FU Berlin, supervised by Hélène Esnault.

I am interested in simple groups of Lie type, finite and locally finite groups and their automorphisms, linear algebraic groups, profinite groups. Here is my CV.

This term I am teaching Seminar on Profinite Groups.

Previous terms, I taught the following courses in FU Berlin:

Analysis 1.

Proseminar/Seminar on Group Theory

Mathematik 2 für Physiker.

Seminar on Simple Groups of Lie type.

Linear Algebraic Groups and Finite Groups of Lie type.

I co-organized the conference Group Theory in Berlin 2019

We are organizing the 2-days conference Groups and Topological Groups, Berlin 2022
